Roberto, a 7-year-old boy who lives in a rural area of Colombia, overhears a conversation between his pregnant mum and the community’s midwife: “If his mother cannot access a hospital at the time of giving birth, both her and the baby will be in danger.”

That same morning, the community is celebrating the news that a group of puppeteers are touring the nearby area. All around the place, boys and girls, young and old, are crying out that there’s a hummingbird capable of bringing a stranded whale from the shore to the ocean. Upon hearing the story, that same night, Roberto runs away in search of the hummingbird, in a journey that will take him through unknown places towards the depths of himself.
